We often mistake our and confuse the Love and Infatuation or end up conjoining the two. These little mistakes often end up in heartbreak, leaving the person in a dilemma. There is a thin line difference between these two equally intense emotions. It is necessary to understand the difference between the two before it is too late.

• Love is an intense emotion that is felt between partners and takes time to develop and proceed. Infatuation is an intense emotion that happens immediately. 
• Love craves for the inner affection of the person and a deeper understanding. Infatuation craves instant physical attraction and affection. 
• Love is a feeling that lasts longer than infatuation, which is quite short-lived. 
• Love is based on understanding and trust that has taken time to develop. However, Infatuation brings out covetousness and obsession. 
• Love is an accepting the person for who he or she really is; whereas Infatuation is an illusion that you are in love with the person and are all accepting of his or her persona. 
• Love has set expectations however Infatuation has unrealistic expectations. 
• Love survives the toughest situations like fights and arguments. However, Infatuation mulls over the argument and does not forget. 
• Love has a calming effect over you, whereas Infatuation makes you forget your relationships around you and makes you very hyper and restless. 
• Love is healing and helps you recover, whereas Infatuation is almost always self-destructive. 
• Love is not perfect and people in love realize this but are still committed to the relationship. Infatuation expects love to be perfect and cannot adjust to the fact if it is not. 

These are just a few points that we have highlighted. There is nothing called at ‘Love at first sight’ however there is ‘lust at first sight’. If you think you are in love with the person almost immediately, think again! It may be just an infatuation or fixation rather than love.
